Welcome to Power Mantra -- Mala-inspired jewelry based on the ancient practice of Mantra.As the name implies, each hand-crafted mala is infused with a powerful Mantra for obtaining wealth, health, happiness, and love! You may use your Power Mantra beads for mantra practice or for daily wear.

WHAT ARE MALA BEADS? Mala beads are a string of beads used to count mantras. They are used in other religions and are known as a rosary, worry beads or meditation beads. They are comprised of 27, 54, or 108 beads and are used to count repetitions. They are used to keep the practitioner focused on his or her meditation. Mala beads are typically made out of different materials and the properties of the beads are said to have specific energetic effects.
WHAT IS MANTRA? The word mantra is derived from Sanskrit and contains two words "man" which means "to think" and "trai" which means "tool." These ancient and Divine, energy-based sounds act as powerful conduits and when repeated, these sounds link us to our God consciousness.Uttering these sacred sounds provide us with the power to attain our goals. ~Three denotes completeness, as 3 lines complete a plane figure. Hence, 3 signifies Divine perfection and completeness. The number three signifies resurrection. 27 is 3 to the 3rd power which signifies Divine completeness.
~9 times 12: Both of these numbers have been said to have spiritual significance in many traditions. 9 times 12 is 108. ~The chakras are the intersections of energy lines, and there are said to be a total of 108 energy lines converging to form the heart chakra. One of them, sushumna leads to the crown chakra, and is said to be the path to Self-realization.
~There are 54 letters in the Sanskrit alphabet. Each has masculine and feminine, shiva and shakti.
54 x 2 =108. 1 + 8 = 9 and 9 X 12 = 108.
~108 signifies the wholeness of the Divinity, perfect totality.
~108 is the ratio of the distance between the Earth and the Sun divided by the diameter of the Sun. Similarly, 108 is also the ratio of the distance between the Moon and the Earth divided by the diameter of the Moon.

If using your necklace/wristlet as a mala, hold it in your right hand. I have found the easiest way to rotate the beads is to hang it on your third finger or middle finger (the middle finger brings calmness.) Then, use your thumb to move the bead towards yourself with each repetition of the mala. Do not use your index finger to rotate the beads as it brings karma toward you.To begin, start your practice at the summit bead and continue around the loop until the Meru bead is reached again. The Meru bead is never passed over. If you plan to do more than one “round,” the mala is turned around to proceed in the reverse direction.
