You never really know how much someone’s endured— until you try to love them.

Not flirt with them.
Not spiritually bypass their pain with pretty words.
But love them.
Stand in the rawness with them.
See them, fully.
And stay.

I’ve watched it happen more than once.
Every single time, it feels like witnessing a miracle that almost doesn’t want to be seen.

You reach for them… and something in them recoils.
Not because they don’t crave love.
But because they’ve learned that love is a trick mirror—something that appears warm, only to shatter when they finally exhale into it.

You’ll feel it before they ever say a word.
In the way they dismiss compliments.
In the way their body stiffens at softness.
In the way their eyes shift when you say, “I’m not going anywhere.”

They don’t know how to believe that yet.

And honestly, I don’t blame them.

I’ve sat with the ache of those moments.

When someone I loved pushed me away with all the strength of a person trying to protect a wound that never stopped bleeding.

And in that moment, I swear— you’re not just witnessing healing. You’re witnessing a miracle.

Not in a religious sense but in the way divinity slips through the cracks, quietly rebuilding what the world tried to destroy.

I’ve learned that love like this doesn’t come to teach us how to fix others.
It comes to show us the depth of our own tenderness.
The stretch of our own patience.
The power of staying.

It’s in that staying that something sacred ignites.

They begin to trust—not just you, but the idea that maybe they aren’t too much. That their pain isn’t a burden.

That maybe—just maybe—they can be held without feeling broken again.

Watching that unfold is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced.

They won’t always say thank you.
They may never name what you’ve given them.
But you’ll see it in how they soften.
In how they try.
In how they begin to see themselves through your eyes.

And maybe that’s the real alchemy of love— when someone who thought they were unworthy starts to believe they’re worth choosing.

Every time.
Even on their worst days.
Even when they’re still learning how to receive.
Even when the past comes back and tries to pull them under again.

You stay.
Not because you’re trying to save them.
But because somewhere inside you, something sacred recognised them.

they're the miracle.
